• GT World Challenge powered by AWS headlines with penultimate Sprint Cup event of 2026

The penultimate round of the GT World Challenge powered by AWS Sprint Cup headlines a packed schedule of racing next weekend at Zandvoort (18–20 September). A monster 45-car field is set to tackle a pair of 60-minute races, while a trio of support series will ensure that well over 100 GT cars compete at the Dutch circuit.
Set amid the dunes of the North Sea coast, Zandvoort is a blend of classic and contemporary. The 4.3km track is a firm favourite among drivers, who relish the opportunity to test themselves on an old school layout where skill and bravery make the difference.
As ever, fans can look forward to a very busy weekend both on and off the circuit with pit walks, autograph sessions, and an open paddock. Home entries from Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing, KPX Motorsport and four local drivers will give the Orange Army plenty to cheer for at the track which recently hosted the Dutch Grand Prix.
A record 45-car field is set to compete at Zandvoort. Defending champions Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde (#32 Team WRT BMW) lead the title fight, though a tough Magny-Cours weekend reduced their margin to just 2.5 points over Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus (#80 Lionspeed GP Porsche).
Dani Juncadella sits third for Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing after winning Race 1 in France alongside Jules Gounon. This weekend, Juncadella reunites with regular teammate Chris Lulham. The top five are separated by less than 10 points, with AF Corse (#50 Ferrari) and Winward Racing (#48 Mercedes-AMG) close behind.
AF Corse (#51 Ferrari) leads the Gold Cup by 15 points over Garage 59 (#58 McLaren). In the Silver Cup, Team WRT BMW’s Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro hold a 37-point advantage and will secure the crown a round early if they maintain this gap.
The Bronze Cup is tighter, with Winward Racing (#87 Mercedes-AMG) holding an eight-point lead over 2 Seas Motorsport (#222 Mercedes-AMG). Local fans will also have four home drivers to cheer for, including Morris Schuring (#2 Boutsen VDS Porsche) and Thierry Vermeulen (#69 Emil Frey Racing Ferrari).

Zandvoort hosted its first motor race in 1948. But, unlike many permanent tracks built during this era, it is located within an urban setting. It’s a stone’s throw from the beach and Amsterdam can be reached by a quick car or train journey. If you live or are staying locally, you can access the circuit by foot – or being as this is the Netherlands, on a bicycle.
However you get there, the journey will be worth it. Pit walks will be organised during the lunch break on Saturday and on Sunday, and there will be autograph sessions for the GT World Challenge drivers on Saturday and the GT4 European Series competitors on Sunday.
The event includes a fan zone with food and drinks, merchandise stalls, giant screens and a DJ, and the paddock is open for all to enjoy. Zandvoort will also play host to a new initiative: Pixa Racer. Participants drive radio-controlled cars from a sim rig, experiencing real force feedback and evolving track conditions. Zandvoort will host a packed line-up of GT competition, with eight races adding up to almost seven hours of action. The GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli is finely poised, with championship glory up for grabs in the Silver, Pro-Am and Masters classes. There's also a fierce battle for SRO GT Academy honours, which will earn one talented driver a spot on next year’s GT World Challenge grid.
The GT4 European Series is certain to provide plenty of wheel-to-wheel action, with 36 cars set to do battle in the dunes. There’s also one-make racing from Porsche Carrera Cup France, which includes several rising stars looking to accelerate their route to the top.

Zandvoort tickets start at just 10€ for access on Friday. Single-day tickets for Saturday and Sunday cost 25€ each while a full weekend pass costs 40€. Kids under 14 can attend free when accompanied by a paying adult.
A supplementary grid walk pass is also available to purchase, giving spectators access to the starting grid moments before the action gets under way. This applies to GT World Challenge, GT2 Europe and GT4 Europe and is priced at 40€ per day.

If you can’t make it to the track, GT World Challenge races are streamed live around the world on the GT World YouTube channel. This is entirely free, allowing fans to experience every second of the action no matter where they are. Live coverage from Zandvoort begins with Qualifying 1 at 09:50 on Saturday, followed later that day by Race 1 at 14:45. The schedule is similar on Sunday with Qualifying 2 at 10:35 and Race 2 at 14:15. GT2 Europe and GT4 Europe will also air live on GT World.
